Harrison Pittman Lyon (d. 1864) of Edgecombe County, NC, entered the University in 1858, joined the Philanthropic Society, and left in 1861. A lieutenant in the Confederate army, he died at the Battle of the Wilderness in 1864. His BA degree was awarded in 1911 "as of 1862."
